To perform a custom installation of Windows Vista on a Windows XP-based computer, follow these steps.
Note During the installation process, you can click the left arrow in the upper-left corner of the Setup program window to go back to the earlier step. However, if the left arrow is disabled, you cannot go back to the earlier step. In this case, if you want to start the installation process from the beginning, click the X button in the upper-right corner of the of the Setup program window to cancel the installation.
